Dirty Laundry confronts the rise of anti-Asian hate during the pandemic and the urgency of the STOP ASIAN HATE movement through dance, projections, and shared vulnerability.

The performance draws from choreographer Li Chiao-Ping’s personal history growing up in her family’s Chong Wo Laundry in San Francisco, where care and love met fatigue and sacrifice. Intimate stories reveal the lived realities behind public silence, inviting audiences to witness experiences of erasure and resilience for multiple Asian females in America within the broader histories of immigrant labor, systemic racism, and generational trauma. Highly physical choreography, spoken text, video, and soundscapes create an immediate, emotionally charged experience.

Ensemble-driven and rooted in trust, dancers actively make space for one another to model the listening, visibility, and solidarity the work advocates.
